Tiesco WG-3L
My 1st 3 pickup guitar. This Teisco WG-3L came to me a bit beat up missing vibrato cover and arm, tone disconnected, and headstock badly refinished. I love the fretboard markers, I now look at guitars with this style even if I don't like the body that much.
Sakia Rocco 4 pu
This is my first 4 pickup guitar. I just had to have one and made a ridicules offer and I was surprised when it was excepted! This gem has all its parts, vibrato complete, knob pointers and it all works, even has new strings. The sound is amazing, who says 4 is too much? I love the 2 bridge pickups best, so far...
Sakia started making cabinets in the 20s and started making guitars in the early 60s.
They supplied Norma and Decca with guitars through the 60s.
German carving (the front beveled edge), sliding pickup selector switches and single volume and tone pots with a solo/rhythm slider. This one had grover tuners installed when I received it. Intonation is great because of the compensated bridge. Even the logo is prestine.
Teisco Tulip E100
The first old guitar I bought was a Teisco Tulip single pickup model. It has an original hard case thats in very good shape. The sound from this one is hot and liking high pitches. Its also very light and feels nice to hold and play. I was hooked! If your wanting to get into old guitars it is hard to beat the price and availability of these little gems. Just search for Tiesco and you will find many models and prices, many times if the maker is unknown the seller will put it under Tiesco. You can spend as little as $100 or as much as $1000, usually under $500, the amazing variety of styles, shapes and pickup types and numbers is huge!
Cigar Box Guitars
The beginning of my adventure into the world of Guitars was innocent and simple. It started with a gift card....
In December 2017 I received a Amazon gift card for Christmas from a client. I had no idea what I wanted. The first add that caught my eye was a Cigar Box Guitar. It had a small matching amp, a piezo mic glued to the underside of the lid and powered with a 9 volt battery.
I did Not know how to play, not even a little! I had tried as a 15 year old to learn but I was unable to dedicate time for this. I also have a slight handicap, my ring finger on my left hand has no feeling. As a child I had cut it off but was lucky enough to have it reattached by a excellent surgeon.
My first real wood working project was to make a box for my new CBG. This was a good learning experience and inspired me to Build a few of these, but not just simple boxes with sticks through them! I have been making things with my hands and imagination as long as I can remember so this was great fun for me!
